Photos of the OZET archive     |     Photos of the World ORT archive

Most of the photo-collection of the World ORT Archive was formed with photographs sent to World ORT Union Berlin Headquarters by its employees working in Soviet Russia at that time. Many of these photos were used in the traveling exhibitions that visited various countries in the world during the campaign, conducted by World ORT Union, for collecting funds to support the Jewish Agricultural Colonisation in the USSR. In 1933 this photo-collection together with the World ORT Union Archive was taken from Berlin first to Paris, then through Vichy to Marseilles. It was in these cities that the Central Board of World ORT Union Administration worked. The collection was in Marseilles up to 1948. After the Administration of the World ORT Union settled down in Geneva all archival materials including photographs were moved there. At the present time the majority of the collection is kept in London where the administrative offices and the World ORT Archive are now located.
