Evsektsia: the Jewish section of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), founded alongside other national Party sections. One of Evsektsia's main tasks was to fight against Bund and other Jewish socialist and Zionist parties. In 1926 it was reorganized as the Jewish Bureau, which was closed in January 1930 when all national sections of the CPSU were liquidated.
