Kolkhoznik Mikhel Gefen and his wife arrived in Borobidzhan in 1929 and settled down in Valdheim. They acquired a large house. They are keeping a cow, a heifer, a pig, several hens and a kitchen-garden. Their future is guaranteed. 1935. [From a photo-reportage by M. Alpert and S. Fridland]
